Sometimes we want a part of our life to be different or better. It might be a relationship we want to improve. It might be something else.
Whatever it is, it helps to work out where we are right now. Asking ourselves: How am I behaving now? What am I saying and doing? What am I thinking about?
And then be clear about what we would like it to look like if it was better. What would I see? How would I behave? What would I be talking about? What would I be doing ?
And then we can try and work out exactly what we need to do right now to make it better. Do I need to have a different perspective? Do I need to say different things? Do I need to act in a different way? Do I need to react differently?
